After I made my list I hung this list up on my bathroom mirror and also on my refrigerator door. I wanted everyday to see my motivation for changing my behavior this aided a lot since quitting smoking is a decision one has to establish day by day. Whenever you stop smoking you have to presume there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I slipped and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
Before I saw the bathroom scales go up I made sure to workout more and not to substitute eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with a little something I normally would not do for myself. If I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette consumption always goes down. I can not say that I don't think about smoking occasionally and most probably always will but I always prompt myself that what you save is both health and money. Your clothes do not smell like smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can taste the food you eat. You can also put the cash you would have used for punching smokes into a bank account and watch it grow.
